I was invited to visit one of the promising schools in the Philippines together with other fellow blogger friends where we had the chance to meet the key people behind it. We are welcomed by Ms. Raquel Perez who gave us the introduction about their school, iACADEMY.

It was followed by a breakout sessions with the Deans of different academic divisions. We met Chair Ryan Abeledo for MMA and Dean Dane Romely for Animation. It was very amusing to know how they teach their students.  They use the modern, very practical and hands-on in teaching that making their student learned not just the basics but the ins and outs of the industry to shape their future in their chosen fields.  Not to mention the state of the art facilities and the environment that they have to keep their students creativity immersed.

We also had the courtesy visit to iACADEMY’s President, Ms. Vanessa Tanco, who is very hospitable and down to earth. Actually, I love her Lego collections and heard that she was the one who assemble it. Amazing right!

Lastly, we had the campus tour. We use the stairs to fully visualize the whole campus building as set to be creative because every floor there is a mural with different themes that describes the schools and the students of iACADEMY.  Did I mention before their state of the art facilities? Yes, they have it because they used one is to one ratio with their computers and it was so impressive because they have Mac computers for their laboratories. The libraries and their amphitheater are very nice as well. They also encourage students to visit the faculty as well as the president’s office if there are some concerns that make their environment to be more like homey compare to other schools.

iACADEMY offers four year courses that caters to the needs of the industry. It was designed and maintained by experienced academicians and professional practitioners with very impressive portfolio that give hands-on teaching for their students.

They offer Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Major in Software Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Game Development and Bachelor of Science in IT, Major in Web Development for the School of Computing.  They also have Bachelor of Science in Business Administration for Financial Management and Marketing and Advertising for the School of Business while their offer Bachelor of Science in Animation, Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Arts and Design and the Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and Technology for School of Design.

Their academic programs are aimed to honing the theoretical skills and practical talents of students so that they can succeed in their chosen professions. As they develop holistic graduates who stands out in the field that they choose and prepared to compete in the global market, iACADEMY partners to prestigious companies in different industries and businesses that helps their student with their internship programs as they prepare their students for the challenges in workplace both here and abroad. Placing their students within the reach of industry professionals and partners, who can teach, train, and eventually hire them.

Due to insisting public demand and from the feedback that people have given to Hootsuite on their dashboard. Hootsuite's designers have updated the dashboard with a new fresh look to improve its usability.

Check out it's newest look as you view the new dashboard design, you can compare its styles by moving back and forth and start updating your own dashboard into its new look.

I have noticed that its now more look like a real social media dashboard/feeds. The images become bigger and wider.

Honest feedback isn't always kind. Watch our design team read some candid messages regarding the old Hootsuite dashboard in this "Mean Tweets" video:

What is Blog?

Let's define first, what is blog?

Blog is an individual web page that represents as your personal website and journal of an individual who updates time to time. It shares own point of view and information about a specific topic.

Blog is when you fall-out from the high structure.

So, you're thinking to try blogging or make a blog?

WHY you should start blogging?

1. Blogging becomes increasingly popular nowadays. There are millions of blogs in the world wide web.
2. It is the great way to share your thoughts, opinions, informations and simply expressing yourself.
3. You can possibly make money in blogging.

Thinking that you already knew that. So, let's start BLOGGING!

There are five main steps that you need to do. Don't be afraid you don't need to code anything, by following the steps. You will be able to create a blog, up and running in 30 minutes or less.

Step 1 – Choose you blogging platform.
Step 2 – Choose if you want a self-hosted blog or a free blog.
Step 3 – Setup a blog on your OWN domain name and hosting.
Step 4 – Design/Customize your blog.
Step 5 – Promote your blog in the world.

Step 1 - Choose you blogging platform.

There are lots of blogging platform that you may want to consider, there are Free and not.

Wordpress is one of the best blogging platforms because it has an approach to create, design and customize it. It is more advanced one.

Blogger is the second best because of its very user friendly ways to start, and I recommend this for the first timer.

Tumblr is another free blogging platform and now growing. It's micro blogging type like Twitter is really good, especially if you mostly post more images than text.

Livejournal is also good and for free.

Actually, there are lots of it on the Internet. You just have to choose which one is best and soothed you.

Step 2 – self-hosted blog or a free blog.

You have to decide whether it's a self-hosted blog in your own domain, or you will be having a free blog. Okay. I know, now you are getting too confused.

Let me help you...

FREE blog is great but the downside;

- Your blog URL or blog web address will look ugly. It will be like myblog.wordpress.com, myblog.blogspot.com or myblog.tumblr.com.

- Your blog is somewhat limited like you can't upload more videos or images, you can't access all free themes, etc.

However, if you have decided to have a self-hosted blog with your own domain.

- You will be able to get your personal domain like myblog.com, .net, .org.

- You can have an unlimited bandwidth for videos and images.

Don't worry about the cost of domain and hosting because I have seen more domains and hosting company selling at the lower price, especially if you get a code  that you can use before you purchase one.

Step 3 – Set-up a blog on your OWN domain name and hosting.

- Come up with a domain name and look for a hosting company.

- Most of the hosting company had integrated a one-click-install for your blog to be up and running.

Step 4 – Design/Customize your blog.

Most of the blogs, varies in different niches. Your blog should reflect your niche as well as your personality. They say that "your blog is what you are."

Step 5 – Promote your blog in the world.

Once you already setup everything and have created your first few blog posts. You can now promote your blog online. Share it with your friends in your social media sites.

Remember that it's okay to have a few mistakes, especially when you are a newbie.
